“Leftovers and Inheritance” is a gouache multimedia series that reflects on aging and identity through the lens of Chinese-American food culture.
This collection examines the clash of cultures between the Chinese traditions I was immersed in at home and the American culture I was surrounded by everywhere else. Centered around childhood memories, it utilizes food as a lens to explore identity, aging, and the complexity of navigating two cultures.
